Answers to what sysops ask most. Still stuck? Contact us.

Buying

Will it work on my BBS?

Yes, with any software that shows ANSI: Mystic, Synchronet, ENiGMA½, Talisman, WWIV, Renegade and the rest. Every product page says whether the screens fit 80×24.

How do I pay?

By card, on Stripe's secure checkout. Any tax for your country is shown before you pay, and your receipt comes by email.

Do I need an account?

No. Your purchases are saved to your email, and you sign in with a link we send you.

How do discounts work?

The more screens in one order, the less each costs, up to 30% off. You never pay twice for something you already own, and regular buyers get a lasting discount.

What's mix and match?

Single screens bought together get cheaper as you add more: the 3rd and 4th are 10% off, the 5th to 9th 20%, and the 10th on 30%. Themes, sets and packs are already priced as a bundle.

What are access levels?

The more you spend over time, the higher your level, from SL 10 to SL 200, and the bigger your lasting discount (up to 20%). Levels never expire. Lifetime owners are SL 255.

I already own a screen from a theme. Do I pay for it again?

No. Sign in and the theme costs what's left after what you paid for its screens. The same goes for upgrading to commercial: you pay only the difference.

Files and compatibility

What's in the download?

Ready-to-use .ans files for your board, UTF-8 versions for modern terminals, and PNG images.

How do I get my files?

They're ready on the thank-you page the moment you pay, with a link by email too. Everything you buy stays in your library to download again any time.

Will the screens fit my terminal?

Every product page says whether its screens fit 80×24, need 80×25, or are taller and scroll into view, the way welcome screens do.

Do the files work in modern terminals?

Yes: every purchase includes UTF-8 versions, truecolor and 256-color, for SSH banners, /etc/motd, fastfetch and MUDs.

Where does each screen go on my board?

Product pages show the usual file name for Mystic BBS and Synchronet, and the download's install notes walk you through it. Check your software's documentation for your version.

Licenses

Personal or commercial license: which do I need?

Personal covers every board and server you run yourself, as long as it doesn't make money. Commercial is for anything that earns money or promotes a business: games, apps, monetized streams and videos, company servers. It costs 3× the personal price.

Can I edit the art?

Yes: recolor it, add your board's name, cut it up. You just can't share or resell the files themselves.

Do I have to credit you?

Not with the personal license, though it's appreciated. With commercial, credit is required where it's practical.

Custom art

Can I get my board's name drawn into the logo?

Yes. Your board's name is drawn once, by hand, in the style of the screen you pick, and delivered within 14 days. One price per order covers every screen you add it to, a whole theme included. Slots for new logos are limited each month.

How many slots are there?

A few each month, so every logo gets the time it needs. When they're gone, the page shows when new slots open.

Can you draw something from scratch?

Yes: a full theme, a door game intro, art for a stream or a company. Ask for a quote on the Custom art page. The artist replies by email within 3 days with a price and a date.

Free art

Why are some pieces free?

Fan art of characters, brands and people we don't own is never sold. It's free to download for personal use, and comes down if the rights holder asks.

What's the Sysop Club?

Our newsletter, run as a members' club: new art first, member discounts, and two free screens when you join.
