How the bench works
What do I get with a pre-order?
The finished piece in your library the day it's done, in every format (ready-to-use .ans, UTF-8, PNG), under the license you chose, at 30% off. Until then, an email with each new version.
What does claiming mean?
One sysop owns it. It comes off the store and is never sold again, and the artist draws your board's name into the logo. It comes with an exclusive personal license; for commercial use, write to support@ansigarden.com and we'll agree a commercial license for the piece. You also get 2 change requests while it's being drawn: colors, small details, text and lettering. A different size, layout or new characters need a quote.
Why can't I claim it?
A piece can only be claimed until the first pre-order. After that it belongs to everyone who orders it, so it can't be made exclusive. You can still ask for your own version: we'll quote a variant just for your board.
What if it never gets finished?
Every pre-order is refunded in full, automatically. The estimate on the page is the artist's best guess; when it slips, the page says so.
I have Lifetime. Do I pay?
No. Lifetime covers all new art, including pieces on the bench, at your Lifetime's license. Claims aren't included, because they take a piece out of the store.
